Bluestone BBQ Plate
Bluestone is an excellent example of a traditional American bar/restaurant. Its sports themed walls and large list of beers make it a destination to watch Gameday. While Bluestone has a full menu one of their best items are their chicken wings. They have the option of being cooked with two methods, smoked or fried. The fried are much better in my opinion as I miss the crunch in the smoked wings. Overall, their chicken great tasting and the wings are quite large in size. Getting the wings fried means that you will be sacrificing some consistency in batches as some can come out overdone and therefore dry.
Their BBQ sauce is satisfying but nothing to write home about. The sauce has a very sweet profile but I generally like a deeper flavor in a barbecue sauce. While flavor might not be absolutely perfect, Bluestone’s price point definitely is; at a $1.30 per massive wing you can eat your fill and stay on budget. Another bonus for the price is that you can request both ranch and blue cheese dressing and celery on the side for free. Their chunky blue cheese is excellent. Overall, these wings are a perfect snack while watching sports in the restaurant as the wings check all the necessary boxes.
