Windy City Wingman

Welcome to Windy City Wingman

Your place for all things wings!

Windy City Wingman is your place for information and reviews about Chicagoland restaurants serving chicken wings! These reviews are intended to help you find the best flavor and value for your dollar.

I grew up in a family that loved to find the best cheap eats around town. Our favorite delicacy was always the chicken wing. What is better than the crisp exterior of a fried wing when you first bite in or the caveman-esque nature of gnawing on a paddle? The answer is truly nothing.

Before my mother passed away, she had a leading role in the creation of Chicago’s largest food and beverage incubator called The Hatchery Chicago. I have spent much of my life interacting with small food vendors and restauranteurs which has given me an appreciation for how difficult the industry is. Around 80% of restaurants go out of business within five years even in pre-pandemic times. I want this website to push people to the chicken wing restaurants that I think are doing it right!

At the beginning of the pandemic I saw how hurt small restaurants were by the complete lockdown. I feared that my favorite spots would go out of business so I dreamt up a plan. I wanted to create review website of chicken wings of Chicago. Voila, Windy City Wingman was born! I am trying to direct people to those restaurants that I was most afraid of losing. I will be concentrating my early reviews in areas north of Chicago as these tend to get less attention. By taste testing all styles of wings from a variety of restaurants WindyCityWingman.com has built up a database for the prospective wing consumer to fine tune their meal.

Since the early days of the pandemic I have continued to work on wing review at somewhat of a reduced rate. Prepare for more delicious reviews coming your way during summer 2023!

Whether you are interested in Buffalo, BBQ, Korean, or other styles of wings, we have it all at Windy City Wingman!
